Mrs. Hazel Phillipps Hill-Top Home Complete
One of the most attractive and possibly the largest private home in Twenty-Nine Palms is that of Mrs. Hazel Phillipps, recently completed, additional rooms having been added to the original homestead house.
The beautiful residence atop a hill overlooking both sides of the Twenty-Nine Palms Valley and the oasis is of seven rooms and two baths, and all built of cement hollow-tile blocks. Also a large double garage of the same type of construction is now being completed. Carpenter W. F, Bendler of Los Angeles was the builder.
Mrs. Phillipps and her son and daughter, Robert and Marjorie have 120 acres of choice homesite land left from the original homestead and are planning to dispose of part of it in five and 10-acre tracts as the demand for such homesites in Twenty-Nine Palms is becoming greater.
The newly-remodeled residence also features a cellar with entrance from the service porch. On the east, a large porch overlooks the valley, and on the south a patio is to be added for sunbathing in the winter time.
