Lekstrum's Sanitarium - April 1938
Conrad F. Lekstrum and his wife, Mildred, were both chiropractors practicing in the Hollywood area in 1930. At some point prior tp April 1938 they arrived in Twentynine Palms and by April 1938 had established a practice on the northeast corner of the intersection of Sullivan Road and Bullion Avenue. The Lekstrum's Rest Home and Sanitarium encompassed three buildings, one appears to have been their office and clinic and the other two patient rooms or wards.
Birth announcements in the Desert Trail indicate that Doctor Henry Wiedow, M.D., delivered babies at the Lekstrom facility.
Just how long the facility operated is unknown at this time. We do know that Conrad Lekstrum died in Riverside County
on October 17, 1966 at the age of 70 and Mildred died in Spokane, Washington at age 95 on June 12, 1991.

Dr. Lekstrums to Practice at Rest Home
C. F. Lekstrum this week moved his X-ray machine and chiropractic equipment to their rest home in Twenty-Nine Palms, transferring his practice from Hollywood.
Mrs. Lekstrum is also a chiropractor, and both plan to practice at their Lekstrum Rest Home during the summer months, possibly enlarging their accommodations when the winter season begins.
An advertisement in the Friday, January 20, 1939 edition of The Desert Trail reads:
